There were two important novelties on this car: the new 12-cylinder boxer derived from the Formula 1 car, and the mid-engined layout that marked the end of Ferraris traditional front-engined solution for its top performance models. The car pictured here is the 1971 Turin Motor Show model which shows a twin tail-light, two exhaust solution to the rear and a different model name to that of the definitive production car that would debut in 1973.
